Inspiration comes standard.

St. Mary's is full of terrific teachers; it's one of the things our school is known for. Michael Volpe, who teaches Physics in the Upper School, is someone who can inspire, well ... read for yourself in this note from Samantha Baumstark '09:
Hi, Mr. Volpe!
I hope everything is going well at St. Mary's and I most especially hope that your AP Physics class is as awesome as ours was. ... I just wanted to say thank you for all that you did for me and for all of your patience. I completely credit my pursuance of engineering to you. I am hopefully transferring to Berkeley or Cal Poly next fall and I put in my essay that you were the one who started my interest in engineering. I NEVER saw myself pursuing anything related to math or science and now I am majoring in Industrial Engineering and am always one of the very few girls in all of my engineering classes. I hope you continue to inspire seemingly lost causes like me at St. Mary's!
As Mr. Volpe says, Samantha " succinctly expresses my primary goal for SMS science." And shares a story about how a teacher at St. Mary's changed her life.

What about you (or your daughter)? Was there a St. Mary's teacher who changed your life?
